The Pickens Area preliminary event for Pickens County Has Talent will be held at Pickens High School this Saturday, January 28, starting at 6:00 p.m. Finalists for the event are Vataydra Ferguson, Lucy Porter, Caitlyn Howard, Samantha McClain, Laura Nelson, Hunter Holliday, Carley Scruggs, Jessie Lee Gilstrap, Chelsea Whitlock, Kaitlyn Holder, Kenneth Barton, Ruby Faith Dennis, Breann Griffin, Grace Chen, Chandra Murphy and Gracie Dellinger. 2012- 13 Registration
Registration for the 2012-13 school year will be in March. Rising 9th and 12th graders will meet Monday, March 12. Rising 10th and 11th graders will meet Tuesday, March 13. Registration times will be from 3:30 to 7:30 pm each night.

College Assistance from ETS
Educational Talent Search offers a variety of assistance in helping students get into college. ETS can help pay for SAT/ACT tests, pay college application fees, take you on college tours, assist with financial aid, appications and scholarships and many more services. Texting Service for Seniors and Juniors
PHS is offering a service to Seniors, Juniors, and their parents to have important reminders and events sent to them via text message. The subscriber is responsible for having texting enabled on their phone and all cost of the receiving of texts is a part of your plan with your cell provider. Reminders will be sent to help make students and their parents aware of important deadlines that come up such as time to register for SAT, ACT, PSAT, and scholarship deadlines. Texts will only be sent when there is a worthwhile reminder. We encourage all students and parents to take advantage of this additional means of communication. To enroll you will need to choose the appropriate grade and send a text as detailed below. There will be a welcome text and you should reply with your first and last name with no spaces. The first reminders will come during the first week of August.
